Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries
Why were these levels done?
Have you had any other tests done as well? Are the other tests normal?
Yes I had blood tests done - renal normal. :FT normal, other levels normal. I had a severe virus.
How is your complete blood count?
Is your hemoglobin, white cell count and platelet normal?
The doctor said to give up vitamin supplements and to discuss with him. I am panicked now.
Yes they are normal.
There is usually nothing to worry about.
A high folate is very common and does not indicate any disease process
Same is the case with high vitamin B12 levels
You will find some weird causes on the internet like leukemias causing high vitamin b12 levels
Just ignore them
The reason why I say that is because if you had a leukemia your complete blood count would not have been normal.
So basically these levels are not something that I would worry about too much at all.
Ok thank you. I will make an appointment to see my GP.
