i have a sore penis around the head, shiny and red,
I had an infection to a cist on my scrcrotum about 6 weeks ago, and after two courses, appeared to get better, however the soreness at the end of my penis has lasted and very painful during intercourse.
my partner had a medical for health insurance by her company, and passed a1
can it be it is that the antibiotics did not clear it totally.
or something more sinister?

you could have balanitis which most commonly caused by poor hygiene in uncircumcised men

other potential causes include fungal infection, harsh soaps, not rinsing soap off properly while bathing, or diabetes

recent antibiotic therapy would not help fight a skin fungal infection.

you should see your doctor and see if you have a fungal infection of your head of your penis.

make sure you wash the soap off of your penis properly after you shower.

it doesn't sound like you have tried any antifungal creams yet.

are you circumcized?
Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.
While fungal infections commonly cause this, if the overall infection improved with antibiotics that goes against a fungal infection.
That indicates that this is likely bacterial that was not fully treated by the antibiotics
Alternatively, it could be another type of skin condition that simply improved on its own.
However, my guess is that it is bacterial not fully treated
What antibiotics did you take?
any change of STDs?

if she passed a recent medical and physical, chances for STD or sexually transmitted disease would be small

and you have said that you have tried to abstain from sex as well.

sometimes very severe dry skin can cause dermatitis as well on the head of the penis

antibacterial soap tends to be very very drying.

if the antibacterial soap is very drying on your skin, I would stop it and use a moisturizing soap like Dove on your skin to wash your penis

this could help decrease some of the redness and irritation of the head of the penis as well.
