I am sorry you are having loose stools

you could have developed a viral gastroenteritis infection causing loose stools and bowel pains.

you can use over the counter medications like Pepto Bismal and Maalox or Mylanta to help decrease your stomach acid.

Pepto can help calm down your stomach and bowels.

eating a bland diet of rice, bananas, toast, rice, chicken, chicken broth can help

if your symptoms don't get better, you should see a doctor or go to the A&E and see a doctor and get your stools checked for infection.

if you have had a course of antibiotics recently, you could have a bowel infection like clostridium difficile bad bacterial overgrowth which could be causing your symptoms.

are your stools mostly water or stools?

that is good you are drinking plenty of water and fluids. keep going that.

let me know if you have questions.

Hi. I have a different answer for you. Given that you're diabetic and having abdominal pains you shouldn't wait to see if things get better. You need to call your doctor now or get to an A&E since an infection--as in a bacterial bowel infection--can be very serious in your case. No more waiting at home to see if it gets better please. An infection can also raise your blood sugars dramatically if not treated

bowel infections such as C diff as I mentioned above would tend to cause watery diarrhea symptoms what does not get better with time

you said you just had loose stools which is different from watery diarrhea all the time.

if your type 2 diabetes is controlled, then most infections would not risk your blood sugar levels.

are you taking medications for your type 2 diabetes?
