Can a dentist stop the nerve causing pain completely whilst a wisdom tooth is being filled? I had a wisdom tooth filled a few years ago and he said then that the injection couldn't quite reach the nerve. Have things changed since then?
Hi--just for clarification here are you asking if these days a dentist can numb the wisdom tooth you now need to have filled?

OK Kathleen. We can continue after this if you'd like but at least today the dentist is able to inject the wisdom tooth nerve prior to drilling so they'll be no pain. With a sufficiently lengthy needle one can easily reach the nerve
