Hi. Sorry but I never saw whatever question you had submitted so would you please repeat it here for me?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes I asked was it possible for a human to contract distemper

OK--just to be clear here Eve are you talking about canine distemper that;s caused by a specific virus?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes canine distemper , I've read online tht it has a measles connection and I haven't had measles nor been vaccinated and wondered if it's possible thereby to contract canine distemper

OK. The simple answer is no--humans can't get canine distemper. While the virus in the dog is somewhat similar to the measles virus it isn't capable of infecting and replicating in humans. So basically one doesn't get measles from a dog with distemper

Let me know if you need more information

Thank you
I read tht If measles were eradicated C D may become a problem for humans due to lack of protection from immunisations and contraction of measles
I sadly had a dog with distemper tho I had her vaccinated and have been worried since I may be vulnerable to acquiring the illness due to lack of protection via ,Measles jabs or not having had the illnes myself
I know my sister is measles immune but sure I never had the illness
Is the info I'm writing misleading or I'm not understanding it properly ?
You simply misread that information Eve--as I said before the CD virus isn't the measles virus and humans simply don't get CD

I've been unwell for a long time with wht was originally diagnosed as ME but it's got progressively worse so you may now understand my concerns as to dTe no Dr knows what is causing all the dreadful symptoms I have and it came to mind the dog I had who became unwell at roughly the same time as myself
I'm desperate to feel well again and looking for answers
It wasn't from your dog Eve, I can assure you of that. I'd be more than happy to discuss the possible ME you have but first you'd need to rate my service on this page and then open a new page for me telling me all you can about the possible ME
