My daughter as a red itchy rash appear all over one side of her face and half od the other side. The rash is angry lloking and appeared from nowhere, I am concerned. She is nearly 12 years of age.

Hi. Could you post a photo on this page?

If not, can you further describe the rash--is it just completly red or more of a small dot like rash?

Any problems with her breathing or swallowing?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Got it--thanks. A few more questions please.

Has she ever had anything like this before?

Has she been vaccinated agains measles and chickenpox?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Never anything at all like this before. Yes had all vaccinations against measles and chickenpox.

And there isn't anything like this anywhere else on her body?

Any fever?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

No nothing else and no fever.

OK. First off this isn't lupus

It looks like either measles or chickenpox and even with vaccinations that can still happen.

One other possibility would be multiple canker sores as in cold sores.

The best thing to do would be to have her doctor take a look at this and get some blood tests

Ok thank you very much for your help, one more thing, is it possible that it is chickenpox or measles when its only on her face and nowhere else? She has had mild chickenpox three times before. Thanks again, much appreciated.

It would be unusual for the rash to be only on her face but maybe in a bit more time it will appear elsewehre Jason. One other possibility, since she's had chickenpox in the past, would be shingles

Let me know how it goes.
