Is bird flu and influenza a the same thing
Dear customer,

Both are viral infections. However they are spread by different viruses. Bird flu viruses do not normally infect humans. But, sporadic human infections with bird flu viruses have occurred.

Humans having close contact with sick infected birds are at risk of infection with bird flu.

Human flu viruses are inhaled since they travel through the air in droplets when someone with the infection coughs, sneezes or talks.

Hence the answer to your question is that they are not the same thing.

Take care.
