I have been to the doctors with constant abdominal pain what conditions should be ruled out before ibs diagnosis?
Hi there,
Welcome to Justanswer! I am Dr. Hoellering and pleased to help you.
You should rule out conditions of stomach (gastritis, ulcer) , pancreas, gall bladder and liver (bloodwork, gastroscopy and ultrasound) as well as gynaecological conditions. A coloscopy should be done, and food intolerances should be ruled out.

Ok I had bloods for liver function, thyroid function, FBC, urea and electrolytes. My stool was tested for h.pylori. All were normal. I am having a pelvic ultrasound soon nurse said my vagina looks healthy. No urinary tract infection and vaginal swabs neg. what other tests could I ask for? I feel like my condition is getting worse I feel very tired and I am avoiding food in case it worsens symptoms.
gastro- and coloscopy then and food intolerance tests: Fruit sugar, lactose and sorbitol.
