I'm female, 52 years old with no health conditions. A recent blood test and scan of my kidneys came back all clear. I usually drink 2 litres of water a day. Occasionally, because I'm too busy, I'll only manage to drink 1 litre of water in a day. The following night I will experience pain on either side of my back, coming from the kidney area. Does this indicate a problem with my kidneys or would healthy kidneys also do this?
Hi there,This is not likely kidney related since your blood tests and scans are normal. This likely due to the back muscles spasms.Less water or dehydrated muscles can cause soreness mistaken as kidney problem. So there is no kidney problem. You can take magnesium and potassium supplements to prevent any muscle soreness besides water.
