light brown color is normal

ash grey or white color stools are not normal.

if you have been constipated, you might need more fiber and water in your diet

and to take stool softeners like colace.

have you you used metamucil fiber before?

or colace or eat prunes to help you have softer bowel movements?

You have not taken in to consideration that I have a colostomy bag, and am passing a motion through a defunct bottom.

yes, it is still normal to pass a stool when you have a colostomy

the bowels below the colostomy still slough off lining of the bowels and this can form a stool.
