i am 51 years old and think I may be in the menopause I went without a period for about a year but have now been having very heavy bleeding for over 8 weeks and two weeks a go I started with stomach pain like I was in labour and something that looked like liver came out of me this is still happening but today the pain is so bad I want to cry is this normal. I have put up with it all this time because I thought it was normal in the menopause

This is not necessarily normal.
It could be hormonal, but it could be fibroids of the uterus.
It could be an ovarian problem.
This is potentially serious and you should have an immediate exam and a scan of the lower abdomen.
