I have had a TAMIS polyp removal from just inside my rectum

This answer was rated:

I have had a TAMIS polyp removal from just inside my rectum last Wednesday 26th August. I have completed a five day course of antibiotics and am taking paracetamol and Movicol. I am still very uncomfortable with a constant feeling similar to hemorrhoids, can you tell me when things are likely to get back to normal
This is Dr. David

you are still probably feeling scar tissue or sutures in your rectum from where they removed the polyp

this will get better in 2-4 weeks after your surgery.

you are only one week out from your surgery

make sure you drink a lot of fluids and keep your stools soft with fiber and stool softeners and eating prunes and laxatives to avoid constipation and hard stools which can irritate the area.

you should have a follow up appointment with your surgeon or GP doctor as well after this procedure. when is that?

My follow up has not yet been received but should be 5-6 weeks after surgery

I seework on keeping your stools soft, drink plenty of water, eat prunes, use colace or docusate sodium stool softeners and laxatives which work for you to keep your stools soft.thanks for the positive feedbacklet me know if you have other questions.thanks for using
