This is Dr. David

the viral infection could have distrupted the good bacteria in your bowels .

you might need to add in good bacteria from probitoics and with yogurt daily to help add more good bacteria in your bowels

you should keep a food diary to see what foods are causing your diarrhea episodes every 2-3 times.

you could have a bowel allergy to gluten wheat protein or lactose milk sugar or certain oils which can cause diarrhea.

always make sure to wash your hands with soap and water before you prepare foods and before you eat.

there are stronger stomach acid blocking medicaitons like zantac, prilosec or nexium which can help decrease stomach acid issues. but stomach acid issues usually don't cause diarrhea and is most likely a separate issue

you should consult wiht a GI doctor who can test your stools and work on getting your bowels better

let me know if you have other questions.

HelloI disagreeThis is not a situation for acid blocking drugs. This is recurrent diarrhea.Do not treat it yourself at all.Seen an internist like myself. This can be irritable bowel. It can be inflammatory bowel. If you had a family member have any colon problems at a young age those need to be investigated. As to the stomach gurgling, gastritis and ulcer need to be ruled out.You need to be tested for H pylori.

I am a double board certified US doctor and clinician of over 20 years, which means actually taking care of patients and their problems. I will always give you correct answers. Let me know if you have more questions. Please click a positive rating. By the way, one does not need a GI doctor to test stool. That can be done now instead of waiting.Do not keep using immodium, it is not indicated in some diarrhea and can be dangerous. And finally, if you have small bowel overgrowth, pro biotics can make this worse.Don't follow any advice on how to treat this until you know what you are treating!!!! You can find me in medical daily.Use a request lock and "for Dr. Thomas only" in the title. This will avoid delays and I will give you clear and accurate information at all times.Let me know if you have further questions.Rate my post specifically if you would like me to get compensated for my expertise.
