Customer Question

Dear Doctor,
I am in really bad pain.My right knee is very, very painful. I am nearly seventy years old in a cheap hotel in Kings Cross. I can't walk and the hotel receptionist is
Not English and has told me I can't stay in the hotel because I became angry when he wouldn't let me sit down. My room is on the third floor and its agony to move.
Symptoms: right leg really hurts and the knee is very painful when moved. I rode a bike for two hours earlier. I often ride bikes. I also walked a lot.
I don't remember hurting myself. The right knee seems hot to the touch. I THINK I have a temperature. Richard Deeble

Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.
Hi Richard. This is VERY concerning.
A hot tender knee and a fever is indicative of a joint infection
You need to go to A and E immediately and have this checked.
A joint infection can completely destroy the knee if not addressed quickly
