I'm contacting you here because the nature of my problem makes me a little embarrassed to consult a GP directly. I've had constipation problems for a few months now, and recently my anus has been tight and bleeds easily (it rips on the outside). What could be done about this?
Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.
how loose have you been able to get your stool?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

It varies depending on the week, I've had a bit of everything

I'm assuming it rips after a large stool only correct?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

what have you tried to keep the stool soft?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Drinking more, walking, eating more fruit and vegetables, eating more fibre.

I don't eat unhealthily, but I don't exercise much at all.

Although it's never been a problem so far.

I would try something more robust than that. Like metamucil or miralax daily
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

What are they for? I'll try that out.

And if that doesn't work?

loosening up the stoolif not, then you need a stronger stool softener.I would still see your GP but this is a start
