Over the last two years my balance is getting slightly worse.

This answer was rated:

Over the last two years my balance is getting slightly worse. If I have to put one foot in front of the other and touching heel against toe I can't go in a straight line without stepping to one side to correct my balance. I have fallen over a couple of times this year whilst running. I run 3 times a week and do weights in the gym twice a week. I am fit and strong. I am 66 years of age. Play tennis at a UK national standard but am aware of my balance not being as good as it was a few years ago. No high blood pressure, I take a tablet to control. I take Statins also.
Many thanks for your help

I am sorry you have been having more and more balance issues
I am glad you have talked to your GP doctor about this and are being referred to see a neurologist.
you need a brain and spine MRI scan and nerve conduction studies.
and blood testing to check B21 and magnesium levels which can affect nerve function.
you might even need a spinal tap to check the fluid around the spinal cord
there are many issues which can affect your ba***** *****ke this
only a full neurological workup can see what evidence is found on the testing
treatment will depend on what is found on testing
when is your appointment to see the neurologist?
