Customer Question

For years because of post natal depression I was on 10mg seroxat, which worked fantastic and made me 'Norma',in November last year I went to the Drs because of painful burning feet, they said it was a foot infection which I knew it wasn't, I went to 5 Drs over the next 10 days with this same problem and on my last visit I was in a terrible state because I hadn't slept for 4 nights because of this problem, they convinced me I was having a mental break down, I was so exhausted I didn't protest, over the next few months they have prescribed me so many medication I don't know where I am, I am on 150mg pregabalin, 10 mg diazepam, 45mg mirtazapine and 375 mg venlafaxine and 10 mg propranolol, I feel so low still and just can't seem to pull myself together, I am naturally a strong, intelligent person who runs my own business, I saw my psychiatrist last week and tried to explain I still feel horrible and he suggested I come off my pregabalin by 25 mg a week, I did this for four days and today I have had a complete melt down, I just don't know what to do or see, I am so desperate for help, oh and by the way I have got tarsal tunnel syndrome which I am having treatment for hence my burning painful feet right at the beginning of this nightmare, please help me out of this mess, please

This is Dr. David
Seroxat is paroxetine or Paxil, an SSRI agent.
you should not be on both venalfaxine and Seroxat (paroxetine). the combination can cause SIADH and low sodium levels and also can cause serotonin syndrome as well.
you should talk to your doctor about this interaction.
talk to your psychatrist about tapering down off of the venlafaxine.
I agree with you that you most likely are on too many medications.
I hope your pain is better from the tarsal tunnel syndrome so you can at least get some sleep at night time.
