Can I get a large Diastasis , I hope thats the correct term, ( my abdominal muscles are all separated following 5 abdominal ops) repaired by the NHS. I am happy to travel any where to get this done.
This is Dr. David

"Diastasis" means separation

"Recti" refers to your ab muscles called the "rectus abdominis."

Diastasis recti is a diagnosis which means abdominal muscle separation, usually of a gap of roughly 2.7 cm or greater between the two sides of the rectus abdominis muscle

yes, it sounds like from your prior abdominal surgeries you could have Diastasis Recti.

this can increase your risks for future abdominal ventral and umbilical hernias.

Diastasis is not a surgery to repair this situation.

you should ask your doctors for an elastic abdominal velcro binder which you can wear around your abdomen which can help prevent hernias and give your core area more stability.

more surgery in your abdominal area can put you at risk for more hernias.

let me know if you have questions.
