5 years ago I had an operation to a sequestered ( ? ) disc

Customer Question

5 years ago I had an operation to a sequestered ( ? ) disc which was successful except for my left leg lost muscle bulk and weakness in certain gait position ( eg long strides or walking down steep hills) which sometimes leads to my leg collapsing. Although I do not go to gym to exercise I have an active lifestyle but see no improvement through normal exercise.
I understand that this weakness might be due to nerve damage .
I their any remedy for this so I can strengthen my leg and hopefully re-build the muscle.
PS Prolonged activity, like all-day gardening or walking, results is painful cramp in the affected thigh

Hellothe only remedy is the correct manual medicine program. You have to strengthen what muscle remains, ans well as integrate it with the rest of the muscles in the body. You need to see a specialist MD in physical medicine and rehabilitation, also called physiatry.Electronic therapies, tissue work, home therapy, physical therapy, traction, and other modalitties might be used.Is there a remedy to restore a totally dead nerve? No. OK, so that is an initial answer….Please use reply to expert if you have further questions. When you are ready, please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent]. If you forgot something, come back. I am here daily.
