Hi and thanks for the query.Replaced joint prosthesis usually have a life span of 15 to 20 years but it largely depends on what type and quality of prosthesis was used. To be more specific, there's a 90-95 percent chance that the joint will last 10 years and 80-85% chance that it will last 20 years. Having said that, the joint may last an even longer or a shorter duration. Signs of a failing prosthesis are pain in the replaced area, fractures, joint stiffness, stem loosening.An xray of the prosthesis will give a very detailed account of the replaced prosthesis and the adjacent bone.Hope this helps.Please do leave a positive rating for the service.Best wishes.
