Dear customer, Thanks for your question. Since when do you have this symptom? Are there any associated symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea or fever? Any history of exposure? Is there blood or discharge in the urine? Do you suffer from any medical condition or take daily medications? Did you consult your doctor, have you taken any treatment or had any investigations done?

Dear customer, The symptom of painful urination that you are having is commonly due to a lower urinary tract infection (UTI). In men another cause is acute prostatitis which is swelling and inflammation of the prostate gland, a walnut-sized gland located directly below the bladder in men. Another cause is urinary tract calculi or stones causing obstruction. Hence with this symptom which is causing severe pain and increased frequency of urination, consulting with your doctor is very much required and if your doctor is not available now then going to the emergency or urgent care center is recommended. A doctor needs to examine you to find out the cause for your symptoms and you need to have investigations done such as urine examination which will assist in diagnosing the cause. After this your doctor will prescribe medications such as antibiotics and pain killers. Presently you need to drink plenty of water since water will help to dilute your urine. Avoid coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks containing citrus juices or caffeine since they can irritate your bladder and tend to aggravate your frequent or urgent need to urinate. Apply a warm, but not hot, heating pad to your abdomen to minimize the pain. Also for the pain you may try paracetamol or acetaminophen. Take care.
