I'm 42 and heavily over weight. I jumped down from a wall onto concrete about two feet high, and landed badly. My toe is sore and has turned a deep blue bruise on the under side. It's not a problem to walk on. Pain is about the same as if I'd stubbed it an hour ago. Slight twinge but persistent. Relatives think the bruising indicates a more serious injury. How can I tell if it's broken or not?

Yes. This needs medical attention right away. Looks bad. I think you absolutely have a fracture. Maybe multiple

Would I not be feeling a lot more pain or seeing swelling if that were the case?
Not necessarily. Especially if blood flow is cut off. Then you might not feel pain. That is actually a bad sign if there is no pain
