Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. This is known as cervical radiculopathy. The arthritis in the spine results in nerve compression supplying the affected areas. The radiating shooting pain is typical with this condition.Xrays of spine, MRI scan will confirm that.Physical therapy should be considered to release pressure on the nerves. Ibuprofen is stronger than paracetamol at 600 mg 4 times daily dosage to control pain for now.Prescription pain medications like tramadol can be used for better relief if needed.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star). Please bookmark my profile for asking further questions! This is the link to my profile:
