Hi. I've had a dry throat cough for the last few weeks which has been on and off, where some days it was barely there, and next day it was heavily so, but very much persistent in the last week during the day, and worse at night. I have been to my local GP and they say my lungs are perfectly clear, my heart beat is fine, so they assumed it was silent acid reflux and gave me Lansoprazole. I have taken these for about a week once a day at night, but the cough seems to have gotten worse, into a right barking cough with the occasional feeling of needing to vomit during them. I have tried cough syrup as well from local supermarket, but it doesn't seem strong enough.
do you have sinus drainage?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
drainage into the nose was clear
okay. Then when do you take lansoprazole?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I've been taking this since Thursday last week
what time of day?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
due to the cough being worse at night, it was generally before last meal in the evening, sometimes as late as 7pm. i have not taken lansoprazole last two days as cough seemed to be getting worse and worse
You need to take it first thing in the AM before breakfast 30 min. that's why it didn't work

So first thing in the morning, about 30 minutes before breakfast, once a day, for the remainder of the course of treatment which was 30 days?
yes. exactly
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
should I avoid cough syrups or lemsip during the course of the treatment?
No. It doesn't matter
