I have suffered from migraine since 14 (now 81) and have had only aura since
menopause. The attacks are becoming more frequent and today I ha ve had three
- all circles of zig-zags and lights and lasting about 20 minutes. I am concerned.
Do I need to consult a neurologist and are there examples of others who have had
similar experiences?
Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. These are part of visual aura symptoms from migraine. You have established diagnosis of migraine but not on any migraine specific medications. However, at your age TIA or ministroke is also possible. That should be checked out.Hence you should see a neurologist to rule out mini stroke and discuss a safe anti migraine medication for your symptoms. Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:
