Thanks for the information. Most such cases are a result of stomach flu which is a viral infection of the gut and is known as viral gastroenteritis.This infection usually lasts for 1-3 days but can last for upto 10 days in some people.The condition is self limiting and improves on it's own.Main thing here is to keep him well hydrated as diarrhea can cause dehydration.For this he can keep sucking ice cubes or take small sips of water.He can also use oral rehydration solution available at local pharmacy.Do not worry about phone call.I will not be making one.If he gets high grade fever( 104 or higher) he will need to see a doctor.
