this lump could be a swollen submandibular salivary gland which could be blocked by a small stone causing swelling.

Can you see the photo s
This is Dr. David
yes, I see the photo
the area around it is red and irritated.
it could be a stone coming out of a blocked submandibular gland.
is it sore or painful? sometimes cold sores or fever blisters can be painful and be under the tongue and cause an ulcerated cold sore.
we are limited online by not being able to examine you and feel the area.
is the area very tender?
have you had cold sores or fever blisters on your lip or tongue before?

No it's not sore at all. Only just noticed it. It's just very hard. I've recently had a baby so I'm very run down!
I see.
if not sore, then most likely not a cold sore.
more likely a stone coming out from a blocked salivary gland duct.
sucking on hard candy or lemon drops could help push the stone out.
gargling with salt water could help.
do see a doctor if it doesn't get better.
good luck to you and your baby.
