I am prescribed 15mg of diazepam and 8 x 30/500 Co-codamol a day by my doctor and have been on this for 3 years, I am planning a long-haul flight taking around 11 hours so will need to take my medication as it's a night flight - what effects does flying have on this type of medication. I'm not taking valium because I'm a nervous flyer, because I'm not, its for PST and insomnia so it part of an ongoing treatment if that helps!
Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. As such flight should not affect the medication effects. However you should avoid any alcohol inflight.Drink adequate fluids to prevent dehydration. And you should carry your doctor's prescriptions with conditions to be treated with these medications clearly. These are controlled substances -hence proper documentation needed before traveling usually.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:
