My 3 year old boy has had fever daily than three weeks

This answer was rated:

my 3 year old boy has had fever daily for more than three weeks now appx 38 to 39 degree celsius once or twice a day. at first our GP said tonsils and gave a ten day penicillin but the fever went on, then they said its flu and he will be fine had an eye infection treated with drops and then when he still continued to have fever the gp said its the flu so nothing can be since yesterday he shows his tummy and says something is stuck...went to A and E last night but they sent us back home saying kids pick up all kinds of infections and we were not allowed to see a doctor. Today again had fever and showed his tummy. I am not sure if its normal for prolonged fever to be left un-diagnosed without any tests or investigations. He can't be taking Nurofen to bring fever down daily for any longer as its been so since 20 february...Kindly advise..
HelloIt is not normalAnd flu does not last 3 weeks. He could have had flu and gotten a secondary infection.Such as a bladder infection.Smoldering appendicitis needs to be ruled out.Take him back to A&EGive them the time line. And suggest a scan of his belly!!!
