Customer Question

I have just received the results of a blood test and all seems ok as the figures are within the stated tolerances other than a slightly high cholesterol count and a count of 26 for the serum total bilirubin (compared to a range of 0.00 to 20.00umol/L). I am 60, feeling well and not overweight. How bad is that?

Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.Mild elevations are not concerning. If you are overweight, losing weight and following a high fiber diet will help.Since you do not have any other medical conditions, you are at very low risk for heart disease.Since your other liver enzymes are normal, slight bilirubin elevation is likely a benign condition.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:
