I injured my foot during a football match 10 days ago. I presume I had broken my big toe, it was so uncomfortable and swollen and bruised overnight. Although the bruising has gone, the toe is slightly swollen still and it's still painful to walk on. I was reluctant to get an X-ray due to fear of sitting for hours and being told that there's nothing they can do. now 10 days on, it's still slightly swollen and uncomfortable to walk on, and it is painful when bending and moving my toe, it sends shooting through my foot towards my ankle. Do you think it'd definitely be necessary to go for an X-ray now?
