HelloI see that this person has dementia. An SSRI is not going to help with the dementia, unless it is "pseudodementia" from the depression.Dementia needs a comprehensive approach, including medications such as namenda, or others, therapy, services, and environmental support. This person needs to be working with a neurologist, maybe a psychiatrist, and should have psychological testing as well. You have not really stated what your questions is.Find me, Dr. Thomas, anytime by request.Let me know any more information or questions you might have. OK, so you might have more questions or want to give me more information: Please use reply to expert if you have further questions. When you are ready, please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent—that’s how we are paid, per rating]. If you forgot something, come back. I am here

Of course an SSRI doesn't help with dementiaIt helps with the depression and anxiety seen commonly after a strokeDementia is a whole different topic and requires medications like aricept or namenda along with a social worker and family support
