Need for investigation right ?With iron tablets the levels go up . But when stopped , they drop back down again

Iron deficiency anemia may take as long as a year to correct Your stored iron supply is completely depleted. The most common causes in a young woman are deficient diet, loss through menstruation, or both. You should stay on iron replacement.

You did not say you wee 66. You need a workup for blood loss. Colonoscopy and upper GI

No . There is either nutritional deficiency or blood loss. Ferritin is low when there is iron deficiency anemia. And yes, 10.5 is abnormal
