I had a bleed at the start of the week and am 30 weeks

Customer Question

I had a bleed at the start of the week and am 30 weeks pregnant, I went and got it all checked over at hospital and my cervix is shut and I had the anti d injection for my blood type, it tailed off after a couple of days off and now just a tinge of tan colour discharge. Do I need anti d again if it is a fresh bleed or if this colour continues?

There are currently two ways you can receive RAADP (anti-D immunoglobulin):

a one-dose treatment: where you receive an injection of immunoglobulin at some point during weeks 28 to 30 of your pregnancy

or a two-dose treatment: where you receive two injections; one during the 28th week and the other during the 34th week of your pregnancy

tan color is ok

if you have another episode of bleeding, you have the option for another injection if you need it with antiD immunoglobulin.

you most be Rh negative and there is a chance your baby is Rh positive

it sounds like your doctors are aware of this and taking care of it

let me know if you have other questions.
