This is Dr. David
low protein in the blood can be from your liver not making enough protein.
the main protein is albumin which is made by the liver
also other proteins include globulins which are made by the immune system to make up antibodies.
if you don't have an infection going on in your body, your immunoglobulins could be low normally.
but your doctors are doing extra tests to check your light chains which are a type of immunoglobulin which make up antibodies in your system
most likely your immune system is normal and you are not having an infection going on currently and your globulin proteins are low which can be normal in some people.
ask your doctors about your albumin protein levels and see if they are normal
