I have been put on a gluten free diet and managed my hunger

This answer was rated:

I have been put on a gluten free diet and managed my hunger with rice cakes. Recently, I began to have a sore lip and tongue soon after eating the cakes, and also after plain boiled white rice (with lamb). I've not eaten rice for a few days and the burning tongue sensation is less. But I have a sore lip if I eat crisps. It's a depressing thought that I might have developed an allergy to rice as potatoes do not fill and neither does anything else I eat (meat, veg). I can tolerate one banana but my bladder doesn't like two. I'm hungry and the doctor does not believe I can have developed an allergy to rice as I've eaten it for so long without issues. Professionals tell me to keep eating everything and try to ignore my sore lip and tongue. It's so depressing. (Can't tolerate milk and eggs either).

Can you help?

This is often due to a vitamin deficiency

sorry about the late reply

I would ask your doctor to check all the B vitamins, zinc, Vitamin A

This can commonly do it

This was what the dentist thought. Have bought vitamin B 12 and will change to b complex, add zinc and A after the holidays here. Doctor not keen to test as he'd done bloods about six months ago.So you don't think it's an IgE allergy per se and I can keep eating rice?

No I don't think so

you would have way more digestive symptoms
