Customer Question

I am a person with parkinsons dx over 15 years ago. The past ten of those years my neurologist has prescribed Sinemet virtually as a mono therapy. After about five years things were ok but it is now a real problem as the medication is unpredictable and only gives me brief periods of relief. My wife and I are in some distress. The dbs team he is with have refused dbs. We are left dangling.
the reason a dopamine agonist is not prescribed is I have been informed is previous ICDs. Not going into too much detail here but just to say that soon after dx I was put on Cabergoline by my neurologist who soon after retired and for nearly four years was unsupervised. My GP at that time had told me there was no money for me to have a regular consultant. I went on to have considerable ICD difficulties with Cabergoline but if I had had the correct support matters would have been apprehended.
