Customer Question

I bled having sex for the first time quite heavy, and for the days following but the blood was quite heavy immediately after but I counted it as my period as it lasted 5 days but I wasn't on my period when I had sex and wasn't due it for 4 more days, I was also diagnosed with a kidney infection. Should I be concerened that I have something serious ?

This is Dr. David

after sex, you can have lacerations or tears of your vaginal canal or trauma to your cervix which can cause you to bleed

bleeding for 5 days is pretty serious

I hope you have stopped bleeding

you should see a gyn doctor and get a gyn examination to see if you had tears or lacerations or trauma from the sex which caused bleeding and to make sure you are healing properly

have you had a gyn exam before?
