I have a headache migraine problem, I'm 41 male and have

Customer Question

Hi, I have a headache migraine problem, I'm 41 male and have suffered for 10 to 15 years. The GP has me taking 35mg of amitriptyline nightly and 2.5mg of Zolmitriptan when required. I also take 5mg of Diazepam daily for panic attacks following my wife death 3 years ago. Being a single father and a business owner I am under a lot of stress. I was born with a heart defect 2 to 1 heart block requiring a pacemaker fitted age 11. At age 33 I suffered 3 cardiac arrests during key hole surgery to remove wires resulting in emergence open heart surgery. I've suffered bereavement badly and my mental heath and headaches have worsened because of this. At the weekend I had a bad case of acid reflux which I had once before about 3 years ago, I called the ambulance in the middle of the night because I woke with a tribble chest pain I did not recognise. It turned out to be just reflux but since then Ive had a two day migraine. Nothing can shift it I take co-codimol Ibuprofen then Zolmitriptan as a last resort. I only get 6 of these a month and I'm getting though them in half that time. I'm fatigued down and depressed and desperate for pain relief. With Headaches or migraines I get numbness in extremities strange sensations visual disturbances very back neck pain. I just don't know where to turn.

Hi David, Thank you. I also get a strange sickness where I salivate so much I'm sick with my own saliva. This with the visual disturbances happen before headaches but sometimes without a headache at all.

you should see your GP doctor and see if stronger migraine headache medications can help you such as imitrex (sumatriptan)

some beta blockers such as atenolol can help decrease fast heart rate and help decrease migraine headaches as well.

caffeine withdraw can cause severe headaches.

some headache medications will contain caffeine in them.

there are some medications which can help dry up your mouth as well.

bladder spasm medications such as hyoscyamine or oxybutynin can help dry up your mouth

then you should ask your doctor for a brain CT or MRI scan

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I've had a CT about 2 years ago and it came up clear, I can't have an MRI because I've got a pacemaker

what heart condition keeps you from taking a beta blocker?

beta blockers are used for patients who have high blood pressure and heart weakness.

what mental health issue are you having? are they being properly treated? it seems like you are taking only diazepam for panic attacks only.

Zolmitriptan is used to treat migraine headaches. it can increase blood pressure as a side effect.

I just noticed that just answer have taken out 36 pounds from my account! I was told you would not take payment unless I was satisfied!! With all due respect I've been told by 2 different doctors I should not take Beta Blockers as I have two to one heart block. As stated in the 1st message. And Ive also got a pacemaker and you advise to get an MRI! Not a happy customer. I want a refund.
