Please provide more information regarding your question so I can help you in detail.

What is your age?

History of an injury?

Swelling, tenderness, stiffness, redness, bluish discoloration on the affected area?

Since how long have you been suffering from?

Are you taking any medications?

Any other medical history?

Do you have pain in the lateral or medial side of ankle joint?

Waiting for your response.
Thanks

i will be 88 in May---- no history of injury--- slight swelling-----, no discolouring ---- affected just this last 5 days i had a quadruple heart bypass 11 years ago ---severe pain in medial or front of ankle joint especialy when it is turned up

Sorry for late reply and inconvenience.

Thanks for all these additional information.

I understand your concern.

Well as you describe, it sounds mild ankle sprain.

And now you should apply cool compresses with an Ice pack for 5-10 minutes 2 times a day.

Gentle massage with muscle relaxant ointment on the affected area.

Take OTC Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hourly alternately.

You should elevate your foot.

And wear cushioned shoes.

Do ace bandage around the ankle to support your ankle.

If your symptoms will persist then see your doctor for further evaluation and management.

Let me know if you have any further query so we can discuss it thoroughly in every aspect.
