last night I got a pain in my right groin, as I was about to go to sleep I just ignored it and slept! It seemed to have gone this morning but came back when I started to walk around. I am 70 years of age, not very fit, I have A-Fib, I just wonder is this serious, or should I wait and see if goes away!

Hello! My name is***** to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply momentarily.

Do you have any urinary complaints?

Any swelling in the groin?

What medicines are you taking currently?

no I dont want to ring you - sorry I could go and see my GP in the morning if you think I should

thanks for the information

Pain in groin can have numerous causes

It can be a muscle sprain,an infection, a lymph node enlargement etc

You can apply Capsaicin cream in the groin and also take acetaminophen

This will help in easing out the pain

If you don,t feel better in next 24 hours then you can have an examination by your GP

Please do let me know if you have any other question

If done please leave a 5-stars feedback rating

where is the appendix, I first thought maybe that was what was wrong, but maybe its on the other side, or higher up?

Appendix is in right iliac fossa which is above the groin

You can say it is midway between groin and umbilicus on the right side
