I have recently had a blood test that has shown that my testosterone level is very low. I have previously been diagnosed with several cysts above my testicles - could this be related?

Hello! My name is***** to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply momentarily.

Cyst above one of the testicle is unlikely to cause a ow testosterone

You need to see the urologist to look for the exact cause of this low testosterone and then have treatment accordingly

What could the other causes be?

It could be an infection, tumor, decreased blood flow to testicle, or a primary failure of gonads

This does need further evaluation to find out the cause and treat accordingly

Thanks. I am 30 and my level was 288 ng/dl - would you suggest this needs a follow up? Would that be with a urologist or an endocrinologist?

I would suggest to see a urologist first to look for any local causes

But a result of 288 ng/dl at your age is normal

Normal range vary between 249 to 850 ng/dl so they are not out of range

Does your lab reference mentioned another range for normal?
