Customer Question

HiI’ve been suffering with extremely swollen ankles for about a month. There were no warning signs it just came on all of a sudden. I’ve taken water retention tablets but it’s done nothing. Ive also tried elevating my ankles above chest height but again nothing works. I’ve also seen my GP who told me it was to do with my weight - I would accept this however if this was the case I would imagine the swelling would gradually increase not out of the blue like mine has. It’s extremely uncomfortable and can be quite a bit painful on my toes. When I wake up the swelling has reduced but the moment I start moving around my ankles balloon. I know it’s fluid based because when I press down on my foot and ankle it leaves a bright white mark.I’m 26 years old. Please help!

The fluid swelling when pressed with finger, leaves a pit like indentation and not merely white mark. You need to undergo heart, liver tests to find cause of swelling. Images are not at right angle so take front like shot in mirror.

Pain and leaving white spot may mean a vascular cause so do get test like color-doppler ultrasound for calf vein problem.

Good luck.
