Hello I have diverticulitis. I get mouth ulcers from time to time. I have arthritis in my knees and hands. When I get an upset stomach which at time can be often my knees seem to be painful. I’ve developed a bad back which is in the left side top of the buttock. Could this also be arthritis? Thank you

Hello! My name is***** to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply momentarily.

Sorry to hear about all this

Yes it could be arthritis

And it is possible that you may have an inflammatory bowel disease and arthritis can be an extra-articular manifestation

Similarly oral ulcers can also occur with inflammatory bowel disease

Your doctor must give it a thought and evaluate you on this line
