May I ask some quick questions to help me give you the best answer today:

- How old are you?

- Are you male or female?

- Any medical problems or previous surgery?

- Any medications?

- What is your height and weight?

- Is it just affecting the outside of your hip or is the side of the thigh affected too?

- Is it tender to press in this area?

- Is the sensation altered to the skin in this area?

- Have you tried any treatments so far?

Okay, many thanks.

Does this seem to reflect your symptoms:

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
it does but why does any pain relief have any effect ?
Expert:  Dr. Ben replied 8 months ago.

Is sounds like you have severe symptoms, people’s individual response to analgesics varies considerably and it is doing nothing to address the underlying cause of the pain.

Expert:  Dr. Ben replied 8 months ago.

I recommend following the basic advice within the information sheet and going to see a good physiotherapist with a view to bespoke rehabilitation exercises based on your requirements with or without a local steroid injection to the area to help relieve the symptoms in the meantime.
