Customer Question

Hi, I have just had a endoscopy and I can't understand part of the wording.
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I have just been changed to Esomeprazole 20mg from Lansoprozole.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: On the report it says, the procedure was completed successfully to D3.Apparent mucosal junction at 40cm from the incisors. Can you explain what this means please?

This means that the endoscopic procedure was successfully done till the third part of the duodenum or D3

The apparent mucosal junction is the junction of stomach and esophagus and it is normally at a distance of 35-50 cm from your incisor teeth so it is also a normal finding

Please do let me know if you have any other question
