Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Thank you, doctorI am 20 years old. I think I have had it for almost more than a fortnight, it seems firm, its not movable, I am not sure if it is increasing in size as I have not kept a regular check on it. I recently just had some cold and cough and slight fever. I smoke, usually 1-3 cigarettes a day and the lump so far has not caused any irritation or any other issue but the left armpit is visibly swollen than the right one. I am sorry, the lump is in the left one and not right
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I am not exactly certain if it is even a lump or just the thick skin but it feels like a knot.

Please wait.

I am writing the answer.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for waiting.
I am very sorry for your symptoms.
I understand your concern.
It can be a cyst of skin.
Common one is epidermoid /sebaceous cyst.
It usually arises from swelling of sebaceous gland.
Trauma or injury to skin can be a factor.
A lymph node enlargement can occur too.

Usually, these are benign ones.
Please do not worry.

You can wait & watch.
During next routine visit to doctor, you can show it.

However, if it enlarges or if you develop pain, then you would need examination sooner.
I hope this information will be helpful.

there is nothing to worry about?
Because I know it has been there for a while but I did not pay much attention to it and with the difference in the respective armpits' appearances?

It is usually benign & not serious.

Still, if it continues to increase in size, you would need examination sooner.
