Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hi there.Thank you for your question.I will be helping you out with your concerns today.
Which ear is it?
What are your age and gender?
Are you on any medications for anything at the moment?
Please let me know.
Do you have a blocked nose or any flu symptoms?
Can you please close your nose and mouth and try blowing air into your ears and see if you can push air into your right ear and let me know.
Blocked nose is the most common cause of blocked ear that you are having and also the ear pain that you are experiencing.
There is a tube that connects the back of the nose to the ear which is called eustachian tube.
I would recommend that you should try taking over-the-counter decongestants to help open up your ear.
A decongestant nasal spray may also help in your case.
Xylometazoline nasal spray (this is the generic name) three times a day for 5 days
Telfast decongestant tablet -- 1 tablet twice a day for 3 days
Voltaren rapid 25 mg one tablet three times a day after meals
These are all over-the-counter and should help with your pain and your nose.
