My husband has atrial fibrillation and suffered a mild

This answer was rated:

My husband has atrial fibrillation and suffered a mild stroke last May, also high blood pressure. He works as a care support assistant in a care home. Should he self-isolate whilst this crisis is ongoing. Also, I'm employed as a chef in the same care home. Should we both be self-isolating?
JA: When was last time you had a check up? Is there a history of high blood pressure in your family?
Customer: Both families have a history of high blood pressure. My husband has been testing his blood pressure regularly either at work or by the GP but still a bit high. His last GP check up was 3 weeks ago.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: My husband's mother had heart problems and also his sister.

Hello! My name is Dr.Ehtisham. Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply momentarily.

Your husband should surely self isolate

Regarding you it is debatable

You can continue to work but then you need to stay away from your husband '

Other option obviously is that both of you stay in isolation

So if that is manageable then it is the best thing to do

My husband and myself are self-isolating due to his medical issues. He has AF, high blood pressure and had a mild stroke last year. How long do we need to self - isolate for? Thank you.

This self isolation with all these conditions can be up to 12 weeks
