I suffer with Asthma which is elevated with colds, allergies

Customer Question

Hi, I suffer with Asthma which is elevated with colds, allergies and sport. Government guidelines recommend ‘social distancing’ but I work front of house in a busy supermarket. I have decided the risk is too great and told my boss I am staying home. My boss says I am not entitled to SSP, even though asthma is a high risk group. Any suggestions?
JA: Do you have a fever? Do you have any other existing medical conditions?
Customer: Just asthma and under active thyroid.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: Not really

Hi, I'm Dr Osula, the Govt has recently announced people with high risk conditions such as asthma, should now self-isolate for 12 weeks. If your in the high risk group, this will be confirmed by a letter sent from your GP which you should recieve this week
